Local Area Employment Service
The Local Area Employment Service provides a range of services to support unemployed people (back) into employment or further education and training.
The ideal candidates will:
- Link directly with employers in Galway City and County, advocating on behalf of clients, and developing strong links with local employers
- Providing Employers with information on incentives to recruit candidates from the live register.
- Provide clients with a confidential, individual career path planning, and in-employment support on a caseload basis
- Maintain the caseload management system as provided by the Department of Social Protection
- Work as an integrated member of the LAES team and the wider Galway City Partnership team
- As an essential prerequisite you will demonstrate experience and/or a qualification in the area of human resources / adult guidance or working in a supportive role with both clients and employers
- Own transport/access to transport and full drivers licence are essential
Positions will be based in the Galway City / Galway County area
This is an initial fixed term contract of 1 year but may be renewed

Salary is based on a 19 point incremental Project Officer Scale, starting at point 1: €34,531 up to €64,038. New staff begin at point one of the scale.
