]]> HACCP Course (Hygienically Handling Food)

HACCP/ COVID 19 Course starting in the next 3 to 4 weeks.

The COVID 19 adapted course (QQI Level 4) will include different information relating to the pandemic with regard to best practises in terms of hygiene and food preparation. There are two options for its delivery:

The course will be held over two days in a local venue from 9.30am until 4pm with all social distancing/ hand hygiene guidelines strictly adhered to;
OR:
The course will take place online with three 3 hour Zoom sessions plus a fourth session which will comprise of a 1 hour one to one Zoom meeting with the tutor to complete the exam.

The delivery method along with start date and venue will be finalised over the next couple of weeks.

These unaccredited courses are free of charge to the unemployed, run for a period of eight weeks, one day per week and the classes last for two hours.

Please note that the midterm break is the week of the 28th/10/2019 until 3/11/2019 inclusive. Classes will not be running for this week and will resume on Monday 4/11/2019.

Please refer to the list below for venues, times and dates. Participants need to register for these courses on registration days at the relevant Resource Centres.

WESTSIDE RESOURCE CENTRE:

REGISTRATION DAY THURSDAY 5/9/2019 10AM-2PM.

  1. Art, starting Tuesday 10/9/2019, 10am -12noon and running for eight weeks until Tuesday 5/11/2019;

The Galway City Partnership hope to run a HACCP course, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, which will be free of charge to the unemployed. This course will provide the participants with the necessary knowledge and qualification to be aware of food hygiene, delivery, storage and processing and also food pest, waste and maintenance. It is necessary in order to work within the food industry, in shops, factories and deli’s, etc.

The course will take place over two days, i.e. Thursday 22/8/ 2019 and Friday 23/8 from 9.30am until 4pm approx. at the Westside Resource Centre.

It is a QQI Level 4 qualification.
