Community Education Accredited Courses

Galway City Partnership run a number of accredited courses throughout the year. In the past, participants have progressed from our unaccredited courses into the accredited level of learning. Successful students will receive a QQI qualification on completion of each course. The courses are free to all in receipt of a social welfare payment and part-time workers. They take place in a local venue such as the Westside Resource Centre or the Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

The aim of the courses is to provide individuals with a pathway to return to education and ultimately, a career who could not otherwise afford to do so. Students can expect to be in a classroom-style environment for a full day as classes generally start at 9am and finish at 4pm. A qualification can take from two to five days depending on the QQI level associated with the course. Examples of courses that we run are QQI Level 4 HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) and QQI Level 5 Healthcare. The HACCP two day course is ideal for learners returning to education after an absence to determine whether or not they would like to learn new skills. Registration is ongoing throughout the year.
