Recovery Community Employment (CE)

Galway City Partnerships Drugs CE Scheme is a recovery-focused employment initiative designed to support individuals who are rebuilding their lives after addiction.
Our Drugs CE scheme is run in conjunction with COMPASS recovery, part of the Western Regional Drug and Alcohol Taskforce.
The programme provides a safe, structured, and supportive pathway for participants to engage in training, education, and meaningful work experience in a recovery setting, while continuing to strengthen recovery journeys.
At the heart of the scheme is a commitment to personal development and progression.
Participants are offered tailored supports, including one-to-one mentoring, recovery planning, and upskilling opportunities aligned with their strengths and interests.
The scheme includes access to certified training (e.g. QQI courses), peer leadership development, and meaningful work placements in recovery support settings.
This creates an opportunity for participants to give back to their communities while building valuable experience and confidence.
The Drugs CE scheme has a positive and strengths focused environment that promotes inclusion, purpose, and connection and plays an important role in helping people sustain long-term recovery and move towards independence.
It not only supports the individual’s personal growth and their future employment opportunities but this programme also strengthens the wider recovery community in Galway.
