TÚS

Funded by the Department of Social Protection

About

Tús is funded by the Department of Social Protection and managed locally by Galway City Partnership.
Tús provides part-time working opportunities (19.5 hours per week for one year) for individuals who have been fully unemployed and in receipt of a Jobseeker’s payment continuously for at least 12 months and currently in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance.
Those in receipt of Disability Allowance (18yrs.+) and refugees (18 yrs.+) and those in receipt of a Jobseeker’s Transitional Payment (JST) are also eligible (must have been in receipt of a One-Parent Family Payment directly before transferring to a Jobseeker’s Transitional Payment).
There is no qualifying period for refugees, DA or JST clients.
Jobseekers are referred to Tús by the DSP. Tús also employs a limited proportion of self-referrals so please contact us to express an interest.
Placements are provided by local community, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations. Local groups can contact us to express an interest in becoming a placement provider.
Work placements are a valuable route for participants to gain or update workplace experience, to develop new skills and to make new connections. Garda vetting will be required where necessary.

If suitable, participants can engage in additional part-time work in the general labour market to increase income and work experience.
